Welcome!
Do you enjoy Canadian chartered bank notes, but find that buying them doesn't leave you with much money for the rest of your collecting interests?
Do you like the Charlton Catalogue of Canadian Bank Notes, but find the little grey-and-white pictures to be drab and lifeless?
The increasing popularity of privately-issued Canadian paper money has created a market with prices rising exponentially, rendering the Charlton catalogue obsolete and leaving many collectors of modest means in the cold. Wouldn't it be great if there was a website that showed you Canadian chartered notes in all their glorious beauty without asking anything in return?
Well, now there is... the Bank of Canada's Currency Museum. It sort of renders this particular gallery obsolete because, let's face it, the Currency Museum has a heck of a lot more resources than I. With all of those resources, it still took them an eternity to get their collection online. And you know what? Their galleries are so much more complicated while conveying less information. That's why the Canadian Chartered Bank Note Gallery is still online. I don't have all the notes, but there's no doubt about the ones in the Gallery.
As always, the notes shown in this section are NOT for sale. Just like the Currency Museum.
