| Grand Bank - 2 Cod Dollars | Used  A strange note that I know nothing about. It has the words "Quebec/Canada 2002" and "Moratoire 1992 Moratorium" on the signature area. Mimicks the 1954 $2 colour perfectly. The back design is hard to make out. Reads "TEACH A MAN TO FISH AND HE'LL EMPTY THE SEA". | $2.00 | PIC |
| 1 D. A. Moodie Dollar | EF+  A very rare regional issue. D. A. Moodie was the Reeve of the municipality of Nepean for many years, and a middle school that I attended was named after him. You had to be a student there in the late 1980s and had to participate in the Math Games to get one of these. My Grade 8 math teacher put us up to hosting an informal competition where students in other classes would visit us at a series of "stations" and answer math-related questions to gain Moodie Dollars. The teams that won the most Dollars either got a prize or ridiculed by their peers (I don't remember). Keeping the actual Dollars was not allowed as they were to be used again in subsequent years (and Xeroxing more was forbidden for inflationary concerns). Not dated, signed or numbered, but quite priceless. The engraver could be a famous artist or celebrity by now :o) | $10.00 | PIC |
1967 $1. "GOLD FLAG" | This is a real note with a real gold flag stamped on it, but the story about how it came to be, passed around on eBay, is anything but true. This note is not part of a limited edition released by the Bank of Canada. The flag does appear, however, to have been printed on by press, not hand-stamped. Could be a novelty item in a few years. | not 4 sale | PIC |
